The Drifter Front Cover

Artist Profile

  • Gorilla Matsuries

Formed in 2017 by Reito Koga (vocals, guitar, and more), Shun Hirano (recorder, trumpet, and more), and Yuki Funakoshi (Piano, keyboards, and more) within their high school wind ensemble, the group began full-scale activities in 2020. While actively performing live shows both as a flexible, freeform trio and as a full band with guest musicians they also create radio jingles, movie theme songs, and original film scores. Hailing from Shiga, this trio has garnered attention for their versatility in seamlessly shifting between instrumental and vocal tracks, their arrangements and performances that are both daring yet somehow mature, and their playful yet approachable pop songs.
