When twilight bled across the walls he smiled and called my trembling name

His shield of light before my breast turned iron rain away from me

I saw the spear that found his heart beneath the burning crimson gate

And all the vows we swore in spring were broken by the sky

They carried me from shattered stone while grief was freezing into black

The midnight crest upon my back awoke with feathers forged from pain

He gave his final breath to me and whispered do not turn away

The captains praised my killing arc and named me judgment in the sky

But every cheer became a knife that turned inside the scar
