As the first release in the three-month consecutive release project by the idol group "Aquarium and Clematis," whose activities are centered around life, live performances, and journey, we present the 1st EP "Ultramarine." In this release project, each EP features different songwriters. The tracks in "Ultramarine" are crafted by "The Otals," known as the "world's most approachable shoegaze" band. The EP includes three tracks: a cover version of The Otals' "She Is (What I Call) Ultramarine" by Aquarium and Clematis, "Too Many 'Tokios'," which depicts a girl living in Otaru and her complex feelings towards Tokyo, and "Moon Landing!," which tells the story of a magical night between a boy from Earth and a girl from the Moon. The title "Ultramarine" is derived from the English title of the original song "She Is (What I Call) Ultramarine." It imagines a journey from the depths of the sea (marine) to the moon, colored in shades of blue. A girl intuitively sinking into ultramarine, with light filtering through the ocean depths - is it sunlight or moonlight? And a boy aiming for the moon through the blue of outer space. Imagination connects reality to reality. But in the first place, where else does reality exist other than between the sea and the moon? For us, stories are certainly not just an afterthought.
