MAMOONA was formed in 2018 in Tokyo at the call of bassist Mitsunori Yoshioka. Hailing from Yakushima, Japan, a World Natural Heritage Island, he brings with him a unique sensitivity to songwriting reflected by his special roots.
These songs are beautifully colored by the magic fingers of pianist Hiroaki Nakahara and the dramatic grooves of drummer Takashi Mochizuki.

Their distinct trio sound allows for great improvisational flexibility and the freedom to express a vast range of emotional landscapes.
The collision of harmony of each note fuses together to create a sound that is uniquely their own.
