I wrote this song about two weeks after starting at my new school.

I couldn't seem to fit into my new surroundings at all, and I started wondering if I could really balance school and being in a band.

One day, I was sitting by myself in the corner seat at the back of the bus on my way home, listening to one of my favorite rock bands through my earphones. Before I knew it, I was crying.

I remember thinking, "So this is what it means to be saved by music."

That was what inspired me to write this song.

September 1 is also known as a time when suicides among people under 18 tend to increase in Japan.

School starts again. You compare yourself to everyone around you. Things don't go the way you hoped, and sometimes you might find yourself thinking, "I'm just so tired of everything."

And of course, adults go through that too. Working as hard as they can, carrying so many things on their minds, until sometimes it all becomes too much.

When we play this song live, I feel like I can see so many different emotions on the faces of the people listening.

I was saved by rock and roll on a day like that, too.

And I believe there are so many people who turn to rock music when they're hurting and find something in it that helps them keep going.

Just like the heroes who saved us, I want to become a place where someone else can feel like they belong.

There can never be too many heroes.

I can't sing about anything grand or heroic.
But because I'm someone who still has days when school, the band, and life itself all feel like they're falling apart, there are things I can sing about.

I poured that honest, ordinary feeling of "let's keep living" into this song.

Today didn't go well.

I don't know what tomorrow will bring.

But even so, for now, let's keep living today.

I hope this song can become one of the places where you feel you belong.
