    • J-GREN KENTA

J-Kenta Glen is one of Japan's top male gangsta rappers, known only to those in the know. In 1992, he formed "Gomaruichi," a team that would later become a legendary one on Suruga Street in his hometown of Numazu. In the same year, he started hosting hardcore parties and became a hardcore DJ himself. After that, he was inspired by the music of Dr. Dre, and the party became "SLAM & FUNK," an event that crossed over hardcore, psychobilly, G-FUNK, gangsta rap, and more. Gangsta rap became a form of self-expression for him. In 1996, he moved to Tokyo alone, carrying the hopes of his hometown and striving for greater heights. After a short stint studying abroad in the US, he formed the Japanese gangsta unit "J-GREN" with SIVA in Tokyo. He was imprisoned for assault charges that he committed due to his immaturity, and left the scene, but he came up with the idea and launched Serusio g RECORDZ while in prison. After his release in 2005, he released the album "JapaneG~Kooushiro~" with the support of many people. Now, he turns his clenched fist into a microphone and devotes himself to his music career, based on his own "righteousness" and "sincerity." He is slowly releasing unique songs to the world, making use of his rich experiences of fighting bullying in his childhood, class collapse, gang leadership, juvenile detention center, conflict, prison, betrayal, and cancer battles, and knowing the intense pain that comes with them. In particular, the truth and deep Japanese lyrics that come out of his deep voice make listeners excited, and his manly style of Japanese men that respects "harmony" and "martial arts" is also known as "SAMURAI RAP," and is highly supported by core groups and people who are looking for authenticity both in Japan and overseas. In addition, as a man of Japan, he has become a trainee who trains in swordsmanship and iaido in order to inherit the Yamato spirit and bushido and to make his rap a word of sincerity, and is also known in the martial arts world. He is also an advocate of "infusing Japanese culture such as 'wa' into traditional/hip hop and gangsta culture and elevating it" as a true cultural expression unique to Japan. He holds many titles, including head of J-GREN IKKA, representative of Serusio g RECORDZ, Kobushi BRAND (apparel brand) and HONEY & CHRIS (eyewear brand), plans and produces restaurants and events, is involved in martial arts and is a local executive, and is also the CEO of a company and father of two children. His work is wide-ranging and numerous.
