Being stood up

An hour past our promised time, at our usual meeting spot in front of the station. Amidst the crowd of passing strangers, I do nothing but wait for a single text from you that reads, "I'm sorry"-

This trendy, highly relatable pop track sublimates that painfully agonizing, bittersweet time of being stood up into a sophisticated, urban electro-chill pop anthem. Stripping the arrangement down to its absolute bare essentials, it is built solely on a steady machine drum and layers of chilly synths, masterfully capturing the quiet buildup of anxiety and affection. It is a song that perfectly bottles up the way one's heart sways every single time the smartphone screen lights up.
