The BeatMotors, a rock band celebrating their 20th anniversary in 2024, release their fourth full album titled "20". Once again, the album consists of 11 tracks selected from their accumulated compositions without a specific concept, capturing the flow of the album.

Masashi Akiba, responsible for lyrics and composition, reflects on this album, saying, "Normally, I feel like I'm influenced by the tone of the vocals or the feel of the melody when selecting tracks, but this time, I might be choosing songs with words that I'll remember later."

Formed by classmates since their teenage years, the band enters their 20th year showing maturity both in their music and staging, continuing to pursue their unique path in rock.

Recording took place at TAGO STUDIO TAKASAKI, with recording engineer Ryoichi Fukumoto, known for his work with The Birthday, handling most tracks, except for track 6 recorded at TRIPLE TIME STUDIO by Junya Iwata. Mastering was done by Takahiro "Tucky" Takiguchi.

Artist Profile

  • The Beatmotors

The BeatMotors was formed in college 12 years ago. They were friends from way back, that wanted to start a band. Their vocalist and guitarist Masashi Akiba was eyes f_ng the audience all throughout. I swear, if he was not in a band, this guy could instigate a riot anywhere and anytime he wants. Heck, at the end of their performance, when he removed his guitar from his shoulder, I was half expecting him to set his guitar on fire, or destroy it by hammering it against the drums. He was a total showman. The kind of front man you rarely see these days. The BeatMotors rhythm section of Johnny Yanagawa on bass and Takahiro Shikano on drums were no pushovers also. Johnny was the quiet one, but plays a mean bass. His signature was present in all of their songs. Takahiro, on the other hand, had that Ringo Starr persona with his playing style and the way he smiles and bobs his head. Thank you The BeatMotors for reassuring me that good music is still very much alive and kicking. Rodel Alzona (from [Business Mirror] March 5,2016)
