XANADU

Her voice knows the pain of this world.
And still, it believes in tomorrow.

Singer-songwriter Megumi Okumoto presents XANADU.

Latin, jazz, rock, pop, piano ballads
XANADU moves effortlessly across genres, while her rich and vivid voice tells stories of joy and loss, solitude and prayer, and ultimately, renewal.

The tenderness to stay beside you through a quiet night.
The vitality to race across open land.
From a whisper to a roar, her voice takes on a different color with every song, carrying the listener through an ever-changing landscape.

At the very moment someone is laughing,
somewhere else, someone may be crying.

The world is never made of a single emotion.
And so these songs do not offer a hope untouched by sorrow.
They sing instead of the strength it takes to keep living while carrying pain within us.

The name XANADU does not represent an ideal world we escape to in order to leave reality behind.

It is a place we can continue to carry within ourselves,
even as we are hurt, lost, uncertain, and changed by what we lose.

Music that turns the words Goodbye into:
See you here tomorrow.

With extraordinary expressive range and assured songwriting, this collection of entirely original songs brings a deeply human warmth to a sound of remarkable scale.

Radiant and solitary.
Powerful and tender.

XANADU is an album into which Megumi Okumoto has poured the full force of her voice and her music.

XANADU

Toward a landscape you have never seen before.
The door opens with her voice.
