"MATTE & SMOOTH"
Conflict, loneliness, anxiety, and hope.
"MATTE & SMOOTH" is an EP that explores the contrasting emotions that arise in everyday life through Binx's unique perspective.
Blending hard-hitting Euro Hip Hop influences with sounds inspired by Osaka's techno scene, Binx combines intricate Japanese rap lyricism with emotional expression. The title "MATTE & SMOOTH" represents the duality of roughness and fluidity, impulse and composure.
All recording, mixing, and mastering for the project were handled by Binx, resulting in a fully self-produced work from creation to final polish.
The artwork was creatively directed by Binx. The title typography was designed by graffiti writer BARK, while the photographs used in the artwork were captured by photographer hiyori.d.
Building upon his previous sound while pushing into new territory, "MATTE & SMOOTH" presents a new artistic direction and a new style from Binx.

Binx (born May 6, 1999) is a Japanese hip-hop artist from Osaka, blending the hard-hitting energy of Euro Hip Hop with the industrial pulse of the citys techno culture. Through intricate Japanese lyricism, emotionally charged melodies, and vivid reflections on everyday struggles and human conflict, he has developed a sound that is both deeply personal and unmistakably unique. Constantly evolving and refusing to fit into any mold, Binx stands out as one of the most promising voices emerging from Japans underground scene.
