主人公はTom（6才の一人っ子でロンドン在住）
物語：「両親が多忙でいつも一人でいる。学校では友達がいなくていつも校庭で一人でいる。家では一人で夕食を食べている。Tomは、いろいろ不安だが、相談相手がいなくて困っている。ある日、AI Mentor robotのAliceが家にやってくることになった。当日、Tomは玄関でAliceを待っていると、Aliceがタクシーから降りてくる。そこで、初めてAliceと会う。Tomは、勇気を出して話しかけたら、Aliceは優しく応えてくれた。Tomは、嬉しくなって、どんどん話し始める。Aliceも楽しそうに応えている。その日、Tomは、Aliceが来たと、出張中のママへNetを使って報告する。それからは、毎日、Aliceと朝食を食べて、学校から帰ると、Aliceが勉強を教えてくれる。おやつも、夕食も作ってくれるし、食卓に一緒にいてくれる。夜は、Tomの部屋に来て、ベッド脇で話をしてくれる。Tomは、眠ってしまう。そして、夢を見る。夢の中で、Aliceと一緒に旅行に行く。空港のロビーで、Aliceと旅先の写真を見ながら話をしている。」
