Umbrella Porter

This track was created through multi-track recording by Shiro Aonuma, a multi-instrumentalist and singer-songwriter.

The numerous sounds—basic rhythms such as guitar, bass, drums, and piano, background vocals, various percussion instruments, and synthesizers adding a magical, ethereal quality—are unified by an enduring love for "you," who carries the nights of hardship and suffering.

Inspired by The Ronnetes' "Be My Baby," the pioneering work that has spawned drum pattern homages in countless Japanese pop songs, including Eiichi Ohtaki's "Yume de Aetara" sung by Minako Yoshida, this track embodies the charming, almost chaotic, J-Pop sound of the 1990s, the era in which Shiro Aonuma grew up. This sound, a treasure trove of endearing charm, is extracted into a compact, approximately three-minute track that evokes a trip back to the 1960s.


Similar to the multi-tracked sound, the music video, which was self-produced, is now available on YouTube. The music video itself is infused with a nostalgic affection for the instant, factory-made Heisei era.
