"OUTSET" is ka-yu's first full-length solo album, built primarily from previously unreleased songs written before his hiatus and later selected through a fan vote. More than a decade after many of these songs were first created, the album represents a unique meeting point between past and present, shaped by both the artist and the fans who continued to support him throughout the years.

Revisiting these works with a fresh perspective, ka-yu completed them by incorporating new lyrics, updated arrangements, and ideas contributed by trusted collaborators. Through a creative process that embraced outside perspectives more openly than ever before, each song was given new life while preserving the emotions at its core.
