This album is both a return to the melodies themselves
and a quiet gesture of gratitude to those artists.
From pop and R&B to gentle ballads,
the music is reimagined through the simple sound of a single piano.
The album moves through everyday moments,
the passing of seasons,
and memories drifting through the night sky.
The closing piece, Searching for a Vanished Star,
was originally created with vocalist Ray,
a longtime friend of over twenty years,
marking their reunion after nearly fifteen years.
Here, the songs return to where they began.
Artist Profile
MiKa
MiKa is a singer-songwriter and composer based in Okinawa, Japan, whose music spans pop, jazz, piano instrumentals and other styles, rooted in a classical music background. She handles songwriting, composition, arrangement, mixing and mastering, and has released more than 90 original works. Her credits include a theme song for Okinawa TV, commercial music, and numerous songs written for artists in Japan and abroad. She received the Grand Prix in a 2025 songwriting competition, while her original track Stomp Stomp Clap reached No. 12 on the iTunes Store Australia J-Pop Top Songs chart. Blending memorable melodies with expressive storytelling, MiKa creates music that brings color and imagination to everyday life.
