• MAO

  A rapper and trackmaker who specializes in jazz hip hop and lo fi sounds. She discovered music production through DTM during her student days, and later found a common thread between her profession as a copywriter and her rap, the punchline. In 2023, she began performing under the name Mao, the childhood name of the Buddhist monk Kūkai. Blending hip hop, lo fi music, jazz, and techno, she is crafting a new genre of her own. While collaborating with design studios and creative companies, she continues to create music centered around the themes of solitude and oneness, and the unity of Brahman and self.
