La Luna Proibita - Song Description
La Luna Proibita (The Forbidden Moon) is an operatic, cinematic ballad about a man who falls deeply in love with a woman he knows can never belong to anyone. Rather than trying to possess her, he chooses to love her while respecting her freedom.
At the beginning, the moon is presented as a symbol of something sacred, untouchable, and free. No ruler, no hero, and no powerful soul has the right to claim it. It belongs only to the heavens, shining equally upon everyone. It wears no crown, bears no chains, and belongs to no single heart.
But gradually, the protagonist begins to see something beyond the moon itself.
It is a heart.
He realizes that the light descending from the night sky is not merely silver and silence. It carries tenderness, watches quietly, smiles quietly, and possesses a beauty that cannot belong to anyone.
And this realization forces him to confront the painful truth:
If she is forbidden to everyone, then she is forbidden to him as well.
Yet knowing this does not make his love disappear.
He refuses to steal her.
He refuses to imprison her.
He refuses to bind her with chains.
His only desire is far more fragile and intimate:
Just once, within her light, he wants to hear her say his name.
The operatic climax transforms this private longing into a declaration of eternal love. As he cries out to the moon that belongs to no one, his words cease to be about possession and become an act of surrender.
And when he finally sings Ti amerò - I will love you, it is not a claim.
It is a vow.
Even if you belong to no one, I will still love you.
The extended final note carries that vow beyond the limits of the individual, dissolving into the orchestral coda like a love that has nowhere to go except into the night itself.

La Luna Proibita is ultimately the story of a man who looks upon the forbidden moon, knows he can never hold it, and chooses to love it anyway.
