From SPRAYBOX, a leading force in Japan's UK Bass music scene, comes a dark Garage/Breaks compilation that captures the ambiance of a nightclub.
The tracks featured in this compilation all possess a blend of euphoria and excitement. Intriguant from Singapore and Mengzy from Hong Kong, along with SPRAYBOX's Jacotanu and Nizikawa, contribute a total of four tracks that showcase the emerging vibrancy of Asia's Bass music scene.

  • Intriguant

    Intriguant is a Singaporean electronic music producer / DJ. Inspired by the human perception of environment and spaces, He blends textural sounds, rhythms, and backed with syncopated beats, in turn fusing the physical with the spiritual.
 
 His debut full-length album, Recluse, was released in 2017 under the Singapore-based audiovisual label, Syndicate with acclaim from a global audience (ranging from USA, UK, Australia, Japan, Hong Kong, Manila (PH)). Featuring other artists from Singapore, the album as an entity explores the notion of loneliness and self-discovery. His release in 2019, Kindred, derives from an incredibly poignant and personal place. ''I wanted to go back to where I started. The underground club scene has always been family to me. I grew up from there and expanded into other areas'', Intriguant reveals about the origins that underlie the emotional significance of the record. It's a story of evolution wherein growth is the beating heart of the narrative. It's a celebration of pure sound, an album long ode to kinetic charm instrumentals. Intriguant's third album, Spirits, encompasses his experiences as an artist most vividly, highlighting his ability to use the flexibility of electronic music to link floating ideas to the physical world.

  • Jacotanu

    Jacotanu is a DJ/Producer who is active in genres such as Bassline, Grime, and Garage. In November 2021, he participated in the launch of the UK sound-focused label "SPRAYBOX." At the same time, he has been actively releasing tracks from UK labels such as Wang Records, Outhouse Sounds, and Project Allout Records, both domestically and internationally.

  • Mengzy

    DJ, producer, music journalist, radio host, promoter, and PhD in musicology... When it comes to the world of dance music, Mengzy's passion has seen the artist and academic make a name for herself not only in Hong Kong but across the region. In August, Mengzy's track 'Medusa' was featured on Vol.4 of Hardcore Energy's 'Introducing' series - marking her first appearance on an esteemed UK underground label. Previous releases also include 'Into the Light' via FuFu Records (HK) as well as an official remix of 'Your Love' by Intriguant (SG) and 'Embrace Me' by The Naked Eye (UK). As a selector, Mengzy's signature blend of bass, breaks, and techno has secured her monthly residencies at several of the city's flagship underground venues, while international bookings have taken her to Macau, Mainland China, Singapore, South Korea, and the United Kingdom. Established as a tastemaker in the region, the Singaporean-Dutch DJ's credentials include being Mixmag Asia's Music Culture Columnist, where she contributes a monthly curation column called 'Mengzy Selects', and having hosted her own dance music shows on RTHK Radio 3, namely 'Asia Soundsystem' and 'The Breakdown'. Mengzy is also a co-founder and resident of Feed the Dragon, a collective promoting UK bass music and culture in Hong Kong and Asia.

  • Nizikawa

    A DJ/producer specializes in happy and hybrid vibes with a focus on UK bass and breakbeats. While having strong roots in video game music, approaching with a unique perspective geared towards the dancefloor. Doing a wide range of production work, including providing tracks for music games such as "DANCERUSH STARDOM" and "maimai," official remixes for game brand "Key," and composing and arranging lyrics for virtual singer "Marpril" and so on. On the other hand, he also released tracks from overseas labels such as Mutant Bass Records and Bass Militia Records in the UK, and his tracks have been played on Rinse FM and Boiler Room, establishing a solid career rooted in the club scene. In 2021, he co-founded the dance music label "SPRAYBOX" and continue to work actively to further enhance the interaction and excitement of the local and international music scene.
