Masumi Ormandy returns with her second studio album, "Sunshine in Tokyo", this time produced by Nobuyuki Yanagisawa. As the title suggests, this album was recorded in her home town of Tokyo and follows the style of "Sunshine in Manhattan", adding her voice to 13 carefully selected classics. This time around however, the songs are sung in English, Japanese, Italian and Spanish. This, of course is intentional, and continues Ormandy's mission to bridge the language barrier with music.
International vocalist Masumi Ormandy has devoted much of her life to English language education in Japan, co-founding Pacific Language School in Tokyo in 1972. Her serious rededication to music, her first love, commenced over ten years ago, both for personal enjoyment and with the aim of demonstrating the use of songs to help bridge the language barrier between Japan and the outer world.
