Step (January 30, 2010 Radio to Kanpai! Session from the 40th broadcast)
MILD SEVEN
This unit was formed by masa, the MC of the long-established internet radio show "Radio to Kanpai!", and Fusuke of the famous street unit "Phoetics". They were active in the early 2000s and are said to be the only "Nagabuchi-related unit" in Japan. They left a legend behind, performing their original songs in front of Tsuyoshi Nagabuchi's live venue, and while passing Nagabuchi fans looked at them with skeptical looks, saying "It's a Tsuyoshi-like song, but... I wonder if there was a song like this," they received a lot of praise.
This is MILD SEVEN's first album. The one released in 2001 has been remastered and bonus tracks have been added.
"Explanation"
This time, the first album "Shikemoku" by my unit "MILD SEVEN", consisting of myself, masa, and Fusuke, has been released as a digital download from "Radio to Kanpai Records".
This album "Shikemoku" was released on October 20, 2001. The late 90s and 2000s were a time when there were many "street musicians," and we were one of them, singing at Shin-Urayasu Station.
Fusuke suggested that we "make manly music like Tsuyoshi Nagabuchi," and so MILD SEVEN was formed in 2000.
However, we were not able to work energetically in 2000 and 2001, so I, Masa, sang these songs solo.
Nevertheless, in 2001 we set a goal to "make an album with MILD SEVEN," and we were able to complete the recording in about half a year.
I remember recording it on a 4-channel cassette MTR that Fusuke owned, but the master tape was lost, so we could only remaster it from the CD source, but we were able to increase the sound pressure a little and bring out the sound of the acoustic guitar.
It's thicker than the original sound source, and because it was recorded on a cassette MTR, it has a somewhat "analog-flavored" sound. Until recently, I thought it was a little old, but now that I've listened to it, I think it's not bad.
Masa is 28 years old and Fusuke is 27, so they're both in their 20s singing, playing guitar, and playing harp. Their unique guitar playing and stretching singing are now beyond embarrassing, and I think they're trying hard (lol), which is why they were able to remaster and distribute it.
It's been about 25 years since we released "Shikemoku," and we've become "old men" in our 50s. Maybe we've finally reached the age that suits these songs.
I never thought we'd be able to remaster it and release it online. I'm really grateful. I hope you'll enjoy listening to it for a long time to come.

"Bonus Track"
From the 8th song onwards, we will be including bonus tracks.
When I think about it, I have had many sessions and songs with Fusuke for my solo work. I also took this opportunity to release a large number of unreleased songs. These songs have also been remastered.
Artist Profile
MILD SEVEN
A unit formed by masa, the MC of the long-established internet radio "Radio and Cheers!", And Fusuke of the famous street unit "Fortics". He was active in the early 2000s and is said to be the only "Nagabuchi-based unit" in Japan. The original was shown in front of Tsuyoshi Nagabuchi's live venue, and while the passing Nagabuchi fans made a suspicious look, "It's a rigid song ... I wonder if there was such a song," he left behind a legend that received a lot of acclaim. It was. Reunited for the first time in 19 years in 2020, and released the sound source for the first time in 20 years in 2021.
