"Mayu"is the first EP by Shion Kirihara.

Drawing from a wide range of musical influences across genres, Shion creates a sound that goes beyond existing boundaries.

The project also features guest appearances by AKI, a singer who has worked closely with Shion throughout the creation of the EP, adding further depth to its world.

Taken as a whole, Mayu reveals Shion Kirihara's personal story, unfolding through sound and atmosphere.

The title "Mayu" means cocoon.
It symbolizes the stories within Shion, and the many elements that have shaped him-now beginning to emerge into the world.

    Shion Kirihara Shion Kirihara is a singer based in Osaka, Japan. Rooted in Trap, he incorporates elements of Trap Metal, Punk, and Nu Metal into his music while pursuing an expressive style centered around singing rather than rap. His defining strength lies in the combination of hard-hitting sounds, strong melodies, and powerful vocal performances. While his music carries an aggressive energy, melody and vocals always remain at the core, allowing him to move freely across genre boundaries. In January 2026, he released his first mixtape, MAYU. Blending strong Trap Metal influences with his distinctive vocal style, the project established the foundation of his artistic direction. He later released LEE,expanding his sound into a more melodic direction while maintaining a Trap-based foundation. Compared to the harder approach of MAYU, LEE places a greater emphasis on melody and the presence of his vocals, revealing another side of his musical identity. His artistic expression extends beyond music. He places strong emphasis on visual elements including music videos, artwork, styling, and color, treating each release not simply as a song, but as part of a complete visual world. He is currently working on his next release, incorporating stronger influences from Punk and Nu Metal. By combining hard-hitting sounds, melody, vocals, and Y2K inspired visuals and fashion, he continues to expand his artistic expression. Based in Osaka, Shion Kirihara takes Trap and Rock as starting points and moves freely across genres, building a distinct artistic world through both music and visual expression, with singing at its core.
