Heidi
Born in Kanonji, Kagawa, and currently based in Kyoto, Heidi is a singer-songwriter who began writing and performing her own songs in 2020.
Her music captures everyday scenery and the subtle distances between people through delicate, carefully chosen words. Warmth and a quiet sense of loneliness coexist in her songs. In her solo acoustic performances, the intimacy of her voice and lyrics comes to the forefront, while Heidi band set expands her sound with the light grooves and colorful ensemble arrangements inspired by city pop. Moving between these different forms, she continues to create and perform at her own pace.

Artist Statement / Liner Notes
Songs are born when the feelings I have at a particular moment overlap with ordinary life and the scenery of the town around me.
My lyrics are honest, but the songs themselves are a little twisted-that's exactly who I am. Dark, yet somehow fairy-tale-like. I feel that slightly warped vessels, and small traces of something out of place, reflect my own nature.
People often think my music feels gentle and comforting, but underneath there is a certain coldness-a strong, unwavering core.
The title of my EP, BASKET, carries several meanings. In Japanese, it can mean a basket or woven container. I imagine baskets were created when people wanted to carry something carefully, or catch it before it spilled. In the same way, I wanted this EP to hold and carry the words and songs that come from within me, and deliver them to others. That is why I chose the title BASKET.
