Tokyo-based Japanese rapper 2-KID will release his 7th album, Back 2 Basic, on September 30, fully produced by Japanese producer TBTontheBeatz.

The title Back 2 Basic represents 2-KID mindset: no matter how much recognition or success he gains, he wants to stay grounded in the fundamentals and never lose his core. It also reflects his belief that the current underground Atlanta Trap sound is built on the foundation of the classic Trap sound that came before it.

Built through years of collaboration between 2-KID and TBTontheBeatz, the album explores a wide range of sounds, from hard Trap to R&B, while staying rooted in classic ATL Trap. Heavy 808s, technical drum patterns, and production tailored specifically to 2-KID style define the project.

In June, 2-KID released "2K", a reworked version of the song he originally performed in the RAPSTAR 2025 Selection Cypher, with TBTontheBeatz rebuilding the beat specifically for the release. The track has already surpassed 70,000 plays on Apple Music and is also included on Back 2 Basic.
