CRAFTNEY's fourth album, 'Deep Breath'
CRAFTNEY has been steadily producing albums since their first album, 'A Routine Day,' in 2017.
Their fourth album,Deep Breath, is well-known for its 70s British rock and pop sound, directly descended from the Beatles, Wings, and Pilot.
In addition to the traditional British rock and pop taste, there are also songs that feel like an homage to Brian Wilson, with an atmosphere reminiscent of the Japanese Beach Boys. There are also Japanese-style classical numbers that were not found in their previous works, giving the impression that they have taken a step into new territory.
Of course, CRAFTNEY's characteristic pop melodies, gorgeous chorus work, and melodic guitars are still alive and well, making this a varied album that shows their musical growth.
Their pop sound has been further refined, and their stylish and refreshing sound is a must-listen!
Beagle Hat, a music unit that began activities in the 90s, gained attention with their 1st album described as 'a sound that sublimates ,the Beatles, Queen, and YES. Their track 'White Spitz' was broadcast on NHK's 'Minna no Uta' and received high praise. Their third album,Magical Hat , released in 2006, surprised fans with a full collaboration featuring David Paton of PILOT providing vocals on all tracks and contributing his own compositions. After Beagle Hat disbanded, members Hisa Tanaka and Masao Hinago formed Craftney with the addition of Mitsuru Akegawa. They released their 1st album Routine Day In 2017 and their 2nd album Toy Balloon in 2021. Their appeal lies in their original, playful pop-rock sound and heartfelt melodies. With bassist Yukio Iigahama joining, they released their third album Way to Go in 2024. Their reach is gradually expanding, including features on international radio. In 2025, they released their fourth album Deep Breath. They continue to actively pursue new music creation.
