"Togenkyo" is the latest single to be released on January 3, 2024 by Blume popo, who will be performing in Japan for the first time in two and a half years in March 2024. This song is a manifestation of Blume popo's current state after touring in Hong Kong/China following the release of their last song "Boyhood".

"Togenkyo" is a Japanese word that originally meant utopia, but in this work, Blume popo depicts not a utopia, a "non-existent society," but a place to escape from the reality that is just around the corner, Togenkyo", a place to escape from the reality that is just around the corner. (This is a play on words in Japanese.)

The gentle and warm lyrics embody what "Togenkyo" means to vocalist Miko Nomura, who wrote the lyrics, and through this expression, the song itself becomes "Togenkyo" for the listener.

This song, which is about longing for a safe world inside, closed off from the outside world, is rooted in "The Ambiguity of Self-Existence", a consistent theme in Blume popo's recent works.
The cover is a work by Taichi Hishikawa, a photographer based in Berlin, Germany. By depicting ambiguous contours through multiple exposures, the work seems to visually depict "The Ambiguity of Self-Existence".

With shoegazer and alternative as its backbone, Blume popo's unwavering, unique soundscape that it has acquired over its eight-year career has been further refined on this album, and listeners will receive the work with a higher resolution than ever before. And you will immediately feel that Blume popo's philosophy wrapped up in its expression has become stronger and firmer.

We confidently declare that this work will be one that will lead an era in the Japanese alternative scene.
