Hard and sharp nail

―(I don’t wanna lose anymore…)

Beat… beat… beat!

Light and darkness

―(If it were not for me…)

Beat! beat! beat!

My heart is beating fast

It’s worth protecting. It’s worth fighting for.

My heart is beating fast

It’s worth protecting. It’s worth fighting for. ともに

Beat… beat… beat…

Beat… beat… beat…

Beat… beat… beat!

Three years after moving to Tokyo from Hokkaido, nonoc's highly anticipated first album, A Photon Away, is finally here.
The nine-track album features the newly recorded title track "A Photon Away" -- written by nonoc with music and arrangement by Junichi Sato (fhána) -- alongside seven other original songs and a rearranged self-cover of her debut single "KODO" (the opening theme for the TV anime Magical Girl Spec-Ops Asuka). Junichi Sato also served as the sound producer for the entire project.
The album traverses a diverse musical landscape, ranging from danceable electro-pop and alternative rock layered with roaring guitars to indie rock, nostalgic guitar pop, and gentle pop songs that blend into daily life. Whether it is a light, bouncing rhythm or a deeply moving guitar resonance, every element connects seamlessly into nonoc's unique expression through her own words and vocals.
These tracks were crafted as nonoc reflected on herself and rediscovered what truly matters during her life in Tokyo. Through songs that showcase various emotional facets, the album captures her down-to-earth thoughts and vividly paints the world of nonoc -- where warmth can always be felt amidst the wistfulness.

The album brings together a diverse lineup of musicians and creators, including bassists Yu Suto (TenTwenty) and Makoto (Culenasm), guitarists Shu Honda (Inner Journey), Nakanishi (HoneyWorks), Yusho Sunagawa, and Ryotaro Ishigami, as well as Ginnojou Hoshi and KBSNK, who contribute synthesizers and additional sound production.

True to its title, this album stands as "A photon away" -- a work that brings you just a single photon's distance from the true contours of nonoc today.
