Artist Profile

  • Sakai Eiichi

Born in Kimitsu City, Chiba Prefecture in 1955. After starting his career as a singer-songwriter, he entered the teaching profession at the age of 30. For 37 years, he dedicated himself to children's education in Kisarazu and Futtsu, serving as an elementary school teacher, principal, and kindergarten director. He is the writer and composer of "Kaketekuru Ichinensei," a song widely sung at elementary school entrance ceremonies throughout the four Kazusa cities (Kisarazu, Kimitsu, Futtsu, and Sodegaura). In recent years, he has also composed school anthems for three schools in Futtsu City, including Amaha Elementary and Junior High School. In July 2024, he founded the General Incorporated Association Kimitsu Doyo Bunka Sha. As Representative Director, he currently pours his passion into promoting the culture of nursery rhymes under the theme, "Passing on good nursery rhymes and connecting the community."
