    Mari Wakao Jazzsinger (Yamanashi Ambassador) Born in Kofu City, Yamanashi Prefecture At the age of 15, she won the ``Idol Audition,'' a major production scout caravan held with the purpose of producing local stars. When he was at Yamanashi Eiwa High School, he studied abroad in America for one year as an exchange student with the Rotary Club. At the age of 19, he held his first recital for 200 people at the long-established local jazz live house ALONE. He studied under Yasushi Sawada, a great jazz vocalist. After that, he stayed in Germany for 6 years. His first album ``Seeds'' was released in 2020, and his second album ``elegance'' was released the following year, with music produced by jazz pianist Shigeo Fukuda. From the album, it has been ranked in the Japanese jazz scene list, such as Applemusic Top Songs 1st place in Russia and 2nd place in Tajikistan. Top musicians gather for three consecutive years starting next year. He performed at the Yatsugatake Jazz Festival.
