米芸術家ハリー・スミスが愛したトラッドと、ポストロックをベースに活動しているダニースミス・プロジェクト。実に10年ぶりのリリースとなる本作は、全てを失った男がある日突然廃墟に生まれ変わるという架空の物語をモチーフに、廃鉱山でフィールドレコーディングされた4曲入りのEP。全曲オープンリールを用いたモノラル・ワンテイク録音で、「朽ちた廃墟は幸いである」というタイトル通り、その男へ向けた祝福を紡いでいる。

  • The Danny Smith Project

    Formed in 2008, The Danny Smith Project is a Tokyo-based band with influences from Americana & Post Rock. Their 1st album "THE INSTANT MUSICAL" (2010) has received high acclaim, including a comment from British Folk legend Vashti Bunyan. The band appeared in Summer Sonic in 2011, and then released 2nd album "HEARTLAND REVISITED" (2012). After the release of the EP "Happy Old Man" (2014), the band had a long break and slowly resumed their live performances in 2021. With a mix of various instruments such as fiddle, banjo, contrabass, pump organ, and sometimes shoegazing guitars, the band creates postmodern Americana music in a way like no other.
