Immature Bird (feat. Tedd Katou) [in Higayama]

Tooru Kobayashi

Immature Bird (feat. Tedd Katou) [in Higayama]

    Tooru Kobayashi

The 9th single from the "30 Consecutive Single Release Project" in 2026 by Tooru Kobayashi, a traveling singer-songwriter who performs in a unique style of singing while playing the acoustic bass.
This brand new song, "Mijuku na Tori" (Immature Bird), was recorded at Higayama in Yamanashi Prefecture. Featuring guest musician Tedd Kato on blues harp, the track was captured in a single-take live recording, preserving the raw, breathing chemistry between the two musicians.
Metaphorically depicting human clumsiness and lovability through the relationship between a parent bird and its chicks, the lyrics tell a story of someone who sighs for happiness despite already holding so much in their hands. Even when we repeat the same mistakes or fold our wings to stop, the song carries a quiet, powerful determination to "keep our wings from rusting" for the day we finally take flight.
Tooru Kobayashi's warm, enveloping vocals and emotional bass lines intertwine with Tedd Kato's melancholy blues harp. This medium-tempo track delivers an overwhelming sense of presence and raw passion unique to a live recording.
The artwork features a photograph taken by Tooru Kobayashi himself of a bird's nest he found in a vineyard in Yamanashi, deeply linking the visual to the world of the song.
