Mr. Seigo Matsuoka, a Japanese editor and essayist, who died in 2024 August, had left behind a vast body of writings, through which I have learned a lot of things for the last half century. This song was inspired by his book "Fragile" published in 1995. Saying that weakness is not lack of strength, he accepts weakness in a positive way and appreciates deeply its diversity and richness.
I would be glad if this song could convey some of these feelings.
I started DTM at the age of seventy after the example of Katsushika Hokusai, who achieved his masterpiece, Thirty-Six Views of Mount Fuji, when he was over seventy years old. *Katsushika Hokusai (1760-1849) was a renowned Japanese ukiyo-e painter and printmaker of the Edo period. He is best known for his iconic woodblock prints, particularly the series "Thirty-Six Views of Mount Fuji" including the famous print "The Great Wave off Kanagawa".
