Xiahou Dun, the one-eyed hero!
A renowned figure from the *Romance of the Three Kingdoms*, he is famous for an anecdote where, after his left eye was pierced by an arrow, he declared he could not simply discard a gift received from his parents-and proceeded to swallow the eye whole.
DARTHREIDER, a modern-day one-eyed rapper, reinterprets Xiahou Dun's ethos through hip-hop, rapping about the world as seen through a single eye.
All tracks are produced by DARTHREIDER under the alias "FUNK Nyudo," utilizing a "back-to-basics" style created entirely on the MPC.
"TAKE IT BACK" (featuring Hibikilla) declares a mission to reclaim the rule of law, something rapidly vanishing from the world today. "Rhyme and Reason" explores his reasons for rapping now that he has begun dialysis treatment. "Xiahou Dun" (featuring Kumiko Morita) presents a modern-day incarnation of the legendary warrior. "Who cares?" sounds an alarm regarding the way people stand by and watch as the world collapses. "What Did Music Give You?" (again featuring Kumiko Morita) turns his personal story of recovery-fueled by listening to music during hospitalization-into a song. "Who Will Protect Us?" questions Japan-US relations, drawing parallels between Puerto Rico and Okinawa. "Bomb The System" issues a call to "bomb"-in the graffiti sense-the capitalist system that strips away individuality.
Recording, mixing, and mastering were handled by 57move at odoristudio, while the artwork was created by Yohey from mocrock.
