Hailing from Nagoya, AMUSIE is a melodic power metal band formed by four active medical doctors.
After making a striking debut with their 2023 album Heavy Metal Doctors - mixed and mastered by the renowned Fredrik Nordström (Arch Enemy, In Flames, HammerFall, etc.) - the band now returns with a brand-new EP.
The title is ''Rapid Resuscitation''.
As the name suggests, the EP carries a double meaning: speed and revival.
At its core are newly revived, fully re-recorded versions of two high-speed tracks from their 2014 independent release, ''Farewell to Today'' and ''Wings of Liberty''.
With five relentless melodic speed metal songs, this is the most aggressive release in AMUSIE's history.
Reviving the Band's Origins: Re-recorded Early Works
''Farewell to Today''
The very first song ever written by AMUSIE - truly the band's point of origin.
Originally featured on their 2014 independent album, the track has been resurrected with a modern sound and renewed intensity for this EP.
''Wings of Liberty''
A melodic power metal anthem co-written by Mano and Kinoshita during their university days, marking their earliest creative collaboration.
More than a decade later, it finally takes flight again in its fully re-recorded, contemporary form.
New Songs That Reflect AMUSIE's Present Identity
''Start to Breathe''
- A song themed around the birth of new life.
Inspired by the moment a newborn takes its first breath and the reality of neonatal resuscitation, the track channels the energy of life and hope through soaring melodic power metal - an expression only medical professionals could authentically create.
''Vengeance Goes On''
- A reflection on the wars that continue around the world today.
It portrays sorrow, hatred, and the cycle of violence with a darker, heavier sound.
The track also marks AMUSIE's first use of a 7-string guitar, expanding their sonic depth with newfound heaviness.
A Bold and Unexpected Cover
AMUSIE reimagines ZIGGY's classic ''Don't Stop Believing'' with an English-language reinterpretation and a metal arrangement infused with homages to metal classics.
While preserving the universal message of the original, the band injects their signature high-speed intensity and passion.
AMUSIE's Sound, Further Elevated by Nordström
Mixing and mastering were once again handled by Sweden's legendary Fredrik Nordström, a master of European metal production.
Under his direction, AMUSIE's speed, melody, and heaviness are sharpened even further, resulting in an EP with a fierce, revitalized sonic identity.
Reviving the past (''Resuscitation'') and propelling forward with full-speed momentum (''Rapid''), this EP represents a new heartbeat for AMUSIE - and captures the very moment of their evolution.
