Japanese singer-songwriter THE BOY released a single IT'S YOU. He created this song alone in his house in March 2026. He handled all the work related to this song by himself. He thinks that "This song is a protest song against the world dominated by violence including war. I wanted to prove that rock music is more than just entertainment. I hope this reaches many people and resonates with them. I felt like I just had to release this song now". This song is a fierce song influenced by Rage Against The Machine with a strong message. The combination of sludge-like heavy guitars, a metallic bass, and relentless drumming creates a thrilling sense of tension, topped off by raw, visceral vocals. This song has an impulsive, punk-infused energy that rouses the listener, feeling like a true revolutionary anthem. The music video is also available on THE BOY's official YouTube channel.

Artist Profile

  • THE BOY

THE BOY is the solo project of a Japanese singer-songwriter Akihisa Ota, born in 1985. He started his musical career in 2002. In 2002, when he was 17 years old, he began writing original songs using guitar and piano and recording them using a 4-track recorder. From the beginning, he has been creating music and doing all other work by himself at his parents' home in Suzuka City, Mie Prefecture, and that hasn't changed to this day. His distinctive feature is that he creates a wide variety of music without being bound by genre. He began applying for various auditions when he was around 20 years old, and began performing live in his late 20s, based in Nagoya. During this time, he also experienced his dream of performing live in New York, where he performed at a small festival and was asked for an encore for the first time in his life. However, in his early 30s, he developed epilepsy in addition to the mental illness he had been suffering from, and was forced to give up live performances. Since then, he has focused his activities on promotion and distribution via the Internet.
