AUTHENTIC SKA STANDARD's sixth single, "The Tracks of My Tears," will be released on September 8, the anniversary of Prince Buster's passing.

Originally released in 1965 by Motown group The Miracles, this timeless song has been reimagined by AUTHENTIC SKA STANDARD in our own ska style, deeply inspired by Prince Buster's musical legacy.

We are releasing the song on September 8 as an expression of our respect and gratitude for Prince Buster, whose music and spirit have had a profound influence on us.

Prince Buster was a true pioneer of Jamaican music. As a songwriter, vocalist, and producer, he played a crucial role in shaping the sound of ska and Jamaican popular music.

The music and spirit he left behind continue to influence us today.

To us, Prince Buster will always be a hero.

This song is dedicated to him.

A project aiming to recreate the sound and carry on the spirit of 1960s ska music. Members: ASAMI HIROSHI; trombone, vocals OSHIMA TAKAHARU; alto saxophone ONODERA SATOSHI; piano KITANOHARA MITSUO; drums SUZUKI TAKAO; guitar NAGAI SHINICHI; bass, vocals MORIKAGE WATARU; tenor saxophone YAMAUCHI KOUJI; trumpet History: In March 2025, sessions were held to research roots ska. Centered around these members, the project will focus on creating recordings. Activities centered around music distribution are planned starting in 2026. Concept: We aim to seriously engage with authentic ska, seeking to preserve its sound and spirit. We will explore everything from performance techniques to recording methods, documenting this history.
