SHEN returns with his new single "Choose To Be Happy," out August 18, 2026.

Built around the simple yet uplifting idea that happiness is something we can choose for ourselves, the track blends the laid-back spirit of SHEN's Hawaiian and island roots with an open, feel-good groove and a fresh contemporary sound.

Featuring Juna on bass and Willie on drums, keyboards, and guitar, the track introduces a new band-driven side of SHEN. His effortless vocals blend naturally with the band's organic groove, opening the door to a fresh new sound for SHEN.

Artist Profile

  • SHEN

    Shen was born in China in 1981, living there till the age of 2, afterward, moving to Florida. Raised in Hawaii from age 4 to 10 Shen finally started to feel like he was home. From age 10-12 he lived in Tokyo with his family while his parents taught at Temple University in Japan. When he returned to hawaii from 12-20 years old he paddled Hawaiian outrigger Canoe for 6 years while attending Iolani School and one year for Anuenue in Waikiki. Shen uses a KoAloha Tenor Ukulele on stage using the style influences of the Legend Ernie Cruz Jr. He has spent his career building a bridge of culture and music between Hawaii and Japan and is currently on mission spreading awareness of breath to the world.
