Mom and pop shops in a neon tin
Secondhand dreams in a cardboard box
未来より昔が still feel right
Arcade sounds from 1992
But my AirPods bumpin’ something new
Plaza of the future past
Tokyo blend of grit and glory
昭和 meets 2045
Still alive, still alive
He said, “Welcome to the in-between”
Where vending machines hold time machines
未来より昔が still feel right

But my AirPods bumpin’ something new

MANUCHATTT
MANUCHATTT is a Tokyo-based multidisciplinary creator fusing human emotion, technology, and humor into sound, story, and identity.
Their debut project, TOKYO, is an avant-garde 38-track compilation inspired by the Yamanote Line - 30 stations, 30 sonic portraits of the city.
Each song blends global genres - hip-hop, city pop, drill, Bollywood, jazz, and more - with bilingual lyrics that capture Tokyo's contradictions: chaos and calm, neon and nostalgia, solitude and connection.
The album was developed through an evolving dialogue between human and AI. Lyrics were co-written and refined by Manuel R. Lima-Isomura together with ChatGPT, while the compositions were generated and arranged through SUNO under Manuel's creative direction.
Some pieces feature entirely original human sections - like the playful jingle at the beginning of Track 21, "AstroBoy Dropout"- written, recorded, and integrated by Manuel himself.
Every song was then meticulously mastered by Takashi Shimada (GRAYSTONE LLC.), whose attention to sonic detail brought warmth, cohesion, and depth to the AI-generated material - proof that human craft remains irreplaceable in shaping emotion and fidelity.
The result is an album that feels alive - not machine-made, but human-augmented.
It stands as both an experiment and an emotional journey, inviting listeners to see what happens when algorithms meet instinct, and circuits meet soul.
At its core lies one manifesto:
TOKYO. Not a place - a frequency.
Through sound, MANUCHATTT transmits that frequency to the world - a signal that pulses with culture, comedy, chaos, and hope, reflecting the real Tokyo: alive, imperfect, and endlessly human.
