Based in Tochigi Prefecture, ChatS and PECHICA are set to release a collaborative mixtape titled "CASH&PROGRESS" under the name ChatS & PECHICA. The duo has been rapidly gaining momentum as key players in the Northern Kanto hip-hop scene, especially after their collaboration track "SIDE 2 SIDE" became a smash hit and was featured on Spotify's official playlist, +81connect: The "Now" and "Beyond" of J-Hip Hop.
For this project, they teamed up with producer Matsumoto from Ibaraki-based OLD RIVER STATE, delivering a lineup packed with cutting-edge hip-hop beats. The mixtape showcases a deeper fusion of production and lyricism than ever before-from the opening track "Big Fish," which storms through 76 seconds of relentless rhyming, to tracks like "soprano c" and "swosh" that feature unique, rhythmic pockets. The work captures the inherent groove of hip-hop as loop music while offering a glimpse into the duo's evolving artistry.
The title track, "C&P," stands out as a bold manifesto. Over a thunderous, heavy-bass Drill beat, they narrate their current lives while declaring their unwavering resolve to climb the ranks of the hip-hop game. CASH&PROGRESS is a high-octane mixtape that encapsulates their explosive energy, signaling ChatS & PECHICA's imminent breakthrough.
