Japanese singer with a pure chest-voice range of over 2.5 octaves × Hollywood's Kenji Nakai & Shuzo Ogushi craft a fully Western R&B sound and visual world

A Japanese vocalist delivering a completely Western sound.

"Kimi e (For My Dearest)" - the debut single from Mitsuhiko Yazawa - is a cinematic R&B ballad built on soulful vocal performance and meticulous studio craftsmanship. Every element - lyrics, composition, arrangement, self-production, and all instrumental parts performed on MIDI keyboard - was created single-handedly by Yazawa. His extraordinary chest-voice range of over two and a half octaves, stretching from a resonant B1 in the backing harmonies to a soaring G4 in the lead, is delivered entirely with pure chest voice, without any use of mixed voice or falsetto.

Recording took place in Japan with world-renowned engineer Kenji Nakai, who was temporarily staying in the country at the time. Nakai handled all recording, mixing, and mastering; the final mix and master were completed in Hollywood through real-time remote collaboration between Yazawa in Japan and Nakai in Los Angeles. This seamless Japan-Hollywood remote workflow has produced a sound that stands equal to today's top Western R&B releases while preserving every ounce of Yazawa's uncompromising artistic vision.

The artwork and artist photography were shot by Shuzo Ogushi, who kindly advised on facial expressions and posing; art direction and retouching were executed by Yazawa himself.

A deeply personal message delivered through unrelenting craftsmanship - a love song that speaks to the world, yet remains undeniably true to its creator.
