Joe Takizawa's new single.
"Cardboard Box" is a song that quietly reflects on gratitude for loved ones living far away and for one's hometown.
The producer of this song is Hiroshi Shinkawa, a renowned arranger who has supported the history of J-POP and is known as the music director for Hi-Fi Set and Yumi Matsutoya. Mr. Shinkawa's idea to"record in the traditional way" and his passion for music are at the heart of this production.
Sadly, Mr. Shinkawa passed away suddenly during production, but the staff and musicians carried on his wishes and completed the song with all their hearts.
The flute is performed by Rie Akagi, a leading figure in Caribbean flute, known for her unique sound in works such as the TV anime "Demon Slayer," NHK's "Rekishi Hiwa Historia," and "Hanako to Anne."
On drums is Yuri Kawata, who is gaining attention for his dynamic grooves as a member of the rapidly rising city pop band "island etc."
Recording and mixing were handled by Toshio Tamagawa, an engineer who has supported Hideaki Tokunaga since his debut and has worked on many classic albums in the Japanese music scene.
We created this song, holding back tears, with the feeling of returning to our roots. We hope that it gently reminds each listener of their own "place to return to" or "emotional home."
