Hyakunin Isshu Project: Poem 18
The helpless, inescapable loneliness of a woman waiting for a lover who will never come. We've transformed Fujiwara no Toshiyuki's classic poem into an intoxicating Chill-out Pop anthem.
A bittersweet heartache that washes over you like rolling waves, paired with a quietly motivating, atmospheric beat-this is "Yume no Kayoiji". Produced by Twilight Master, it's a beautifully melancholic track designed to melt into your heart.

[The Story Behind the Verse]
Fujiwara no Toshiyuki (unknown-c. 901) was a prominent early Heian poet. His masterpiece draws on the waves of Suminoe to depict a devastating realization. In ancient Japan, it was believed that you only dreamt of someone if they were thinking about you. By lamenting that her lover doesn't even walk the "path of dreams" at night, she accepts a helpless, heartbreaking truth: his love for her has completely faded.
