"Ballad of HAGE: Three Thousand Miles Without a Shield" is a tragic, heroic, and gloriously absurd power ballad about Kuroiwanko, a wolf warrior who travels endlessly in search of meat.
During an enemy attack, Kuroiwanko becomes so absorbed in eating that he fails to notice his protective shield has expired. His fortress burns, and even the hair on the top of his head is lost, leaving his crown shining brightly beneath the sun.
Whenever he tries to hunt mammoths or dinosaurs, the light reflecting from his head reveals his position and sends his prey running. Yet he refuses to surrender. Eventually, he transforms his dazzling bald crown into a powerful Solar Flare attack and rises once again in pursuit of his next meal.
With sorrowful piano, cinematic orchestration, powerful rock guitars, heroic choirs, and multiple key changes, the song portrays a warrior whose head and heart may remain HAGE-but whose determination will never fade.
