A release featuring a truly magnificent cover of XTC's "Love On A Farmboy's Wages"-a gem from the neo-acoustic era-performed by Carnation!
This is a digital single released in advance of the compilation album *Neo-Acoustic for Café Après-midi*. The project features newly recorded covers of neo-acoustic classics themed around "the happiness of an afternoon coffee," with supervision and song selection by Toru Hashimoto (SUBURBIA), artwork by Jiro Fujita (FJD), and mastering by Calm.
Carnation was formed in December 1983 and made their recording debut in 1984 with the single "Yoru no Entotsu" (Chimneys at Night) on Nagomu Records. Since then, despite undergoing several lineup changes, they have released numerous works without ever being consumed by passing trends. Their significance is immense, defined by meticulously crafted songs, lyrics that keenly capture the joys and sorrows of life, a superb musical ensemble, outstanding vocals, and an encyclopedic knowledge of music born of their status as true record junkies. The current lineup consists of Masahiro Naoe (vocals/guitar) and Yuzuru Ota (bass).
