"CONTROLLED CHAOS"
Classic big band swing, hard bop, noir, electric jazz, and an increasingly unstable world of odd meters, sudden modulations and avant-garde experimentation.
Across these ten tracks, the Agency is not investigating a single case.
It is pursuing one question:
How far can music be broken before it stops being a groove?
The investigation begins with tightly controlled ensemble playing, but gradually, everything starts to shift.
The saxophones run.
The brass gives chase.
The piano betrays the harmony.
The bass destabilizes the meter, while the drums begin rearranging time itself.
A beautiful melody appears-
only to shatter moments later.
4/4 becomes 7/8.
5/4 crashes into 11/8.
Unexpected modulations, polyrhythms, false endings and sudden silence tear through the arrangements.
And yet the groove refuses to disappear.
In the album's final stretch, "Midnight Bird" restores the thrill of relentless swing before "Broken Flight" destroys its trajectory. "Honey Trap" lures the band back into something sweet, dangerous and irresistible-only for "Broken Honey" to smash even that trap beyond recognition.
At times, every musician seems to be running in a different direction.
Then comes the final hit.
Everyone lands together.
Perfectly.
It was never an accident.
Even the chaos was calculated.

Imayuku Detective Agency A collective that traces the boundary between urban noise and silence. Rooted in big band jazz, their sound fuses the raw energy of rock, the bounce of ska-funk, and the experimental edge of modern jazz. Centered around a powerful horn section trumpets, saxophones, and trombone their rhythm section drives everything forward with an aggressive, commanding groove. Their music is more than instrumental. Fragmented riffs, sudden silences, and near-collapsing ensembles are presented like pieces of a case, only to align into brief moments of perfect unison. On stage, improvisation collides with structure, ensuring that no performance is ever the same. Imajuku Detective Unit does not simply play music. They document an electric sense of unease hidden within the city.
