Artist Profile

  • Hammer Head Shark

Formed in Chiba Prefecture in 2018 by Nagai (Vo) and Fukuma (Dr). In 2019, they released their first EP "Baby youth" from 2DK records, which was launched by Shimokitazawa Daisy Bar, and the following year in 2020, they released their first mini album "BYE MY NAKED". After that, members left the band and released songs independently, but current members Goto (Ba) and Fujimoto (Gt) joined, and their deeper songs and live performances have attracted attention everywhere. Recently, they have expanded their range of activities both domestically and internationally, appearing in "JAPAN JAM 2023" and "SYNCHRONICITY'24", and appearing on the "Next Music From Tokyo" tour around Canada, which has previously featured artists such as andymori and Hitsuji Bungaku. While the band is known for its 90s shoegaze and alternative sounds, Nagai's (Vo) powerful, yet ephemeral, somewhat nostalgic singing voice feels like a charm that is reminiscent of traditional Japanese pop songs, folk, and even enka. Their musicality, which is popular both at home and abroad, and their powerful, magnificent live performances will make them a force to be reckoned with in the music scene of the future.
