Kuw, the solo project by artist Gota Kuchiguchi, releases its first EP, Aigaini.ep.
After years of performing under his real name, Kuw marks a new chapter - a redefinition of self through sound.
The name "Kuw" comes from the Buddhist concept of Ku (emptiness) and the idea of En (interconnection).
Rooted in both nothingness and presence, contradiction and compassion, Kuw's music breathes what he calls "Jihi-pop" - pop music grounded in mercy and love.
As the title Aigaini.ep ("Because of Love") suggests, all five songs were born from love.
Not just romantic love, but also love for friends, for strangers, for oneself - the many shapes of love that quietly hold our lives together.
Lyrics that gently speak truth.
Sounds that blend electronic textures and autotune into something both intimate and otherworldly.
Every element of the EP - from songwriting to mixing and mastering - was crafted by Kuw himself,
with the cover artwork designed by long-time collaborator sushi.
Music videos for each of the five tracks are also in the works,
brought to life by Kuw's creative crew DApTA,
with each member channeling their own artistic vision into the visuals.
This is the beginning of Kuw's new chapter.
And it begins - because of love.
Kuw is an artist who creates a slightly unusual genre called Jihi-pop - music rooted in compassion. His name comes from the Japanese words "Ku" (emptiness) and "En" (connection). Through his music, he expresses pain that can't be explained, feelings that have no answers, and the deep desire to stay connected to others, even when it's messy and hard. There were nights he wanted to disappear - nights he just needed someone to say, "It's okay." Now, he tries to be that voice for someone else. You don't have to pretend to be strong. You don't have to be perfect. You just have to be kind. That's what he tries to sing, like a quiet prayer. His debut album "remembrance", featuring 22 tracks, is set to release in 2025.
