The song "499 Seconds", produced by Yoko Kanno, serves as the theme for "LIVE EARTH JOURNEY", a project produced by Macross series director and mechanical designer Shoji Kawamori. This immersive experience will be exhibited at the 2025 Japan World Expo (Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai) in the form of the Deep Vision presentation titled "499 Seconds - My Gattai".
The song "499 Seconds" is structured as a medley consisting of two parts: " Wakan Tanka (from 499 Seconds)" in the first half and "499 Seconds (short ver.)" in the second half, together making up a total duration of exactly 499 seconds.
Yoko Kanno's Comment:
It is said that it takes 499 seconds for light emitted from the Sun to reach the palm of our hands.
In the length of this journey, I saw how miraculous and precious each moment of "now" truly is.
I believe we've been able to fully express, through the Deep Vision, the vibrant pulse and mystery of life that Director Kawamori has experienced and deeply felt.
You will encounter yourself as you are born, fused, and transformed with each passing moment.
Before you experience it, and after you experience it, please return again and again through the music to that miraculous moment.
