How lovely, something new from Japanese tranquility alchemist Chihei Hatakeyama, with six of his new shimmering ethereal tonescapes for you to sink into and wallow happily, and maybe lose track of time for a while. As you probably already know, this guy has been creating some of the warmest, most therapeutic new agey relaxo-drones around for years and as you would expect they're sleepy, calming and yet strangely thrilling, like sunbathing on a lilo at the beach and letting yourself get swept out to sea, just to see what'll happen. But much safer.
There's gentle rumbling drones and soft trebly tinkles designed to make you feel all warm and floaty. It goes on for some time along very much the same lines so it's hard to say much more about these kinds of records but if you're a fan of Hatakeyama or contemporaries from Hakobune to Celer even to stuff like Dolphins into the Future or High Wolf, you'll find this a therapeutic and worthwhile listen. Super tranquil.
Hakobune AKA Takahiro Yorifuji uses layers of guitar to create the sonic landscapes. Yorifuji is from a small town in Hyogo, Japan and currently resides in Tokyo.
