YOGA SANTA

"YOGA SANTA" is an instrumental dance track created in May 2019 in Goa, India. Released under the name FuNNy BuRnny, on the label rokkusa. Artwork: original drawing by FuNNy BuRnny.

It was built during the monsoon season, in a guesthouse where the power went out almost every day. Working by laptop light in the dark, with the wall lamps flickering on and off, it took over a month to finish.

The sound comes from a stadium memory. The artist played baseball in his school years, and this track translates the noise of a ballpark into electronic dance music.

A version with added bass was released in 2024, but the loudness ended up pushed too far. This release returns to the earlier state of the track. The title comes from "yoga_santa", a note written on the drawing that had been posted alongside this music on Instagram.

The main part runs about 4 minutes 30 seconds, followed by an outro that plays like an end roll. On loop, that outro becomes the prologue to the next play.
