NewsGathering の活動再開以来、発表された15曲をアルバム配信するにあたって、アルバム全曲を一言で表す、既成の音楽ジャンルが見当たりませんでした。
時代に即したオンラインの音楽制作(実際直接会うことはほぼゼロでした)という場で作られた楽曲は、まるでガラパゴス諸島の生物のように独自の進化を遂げた音楽なんじゃないか、という思いから、アルバム名を Galapagos としました。
2020 年の夏に活動を開始してからの一年は、三人の出自からロック、ジャズ、エスニックが混ざり合ったオルタナティヴな音楽を作ってきました。そして次の一年はおそらくもっとジャズ寄りかつサイケデリックな音楽になりそうな予感がします。新たなジャンルが生まれそうな予感です。その橋渡しとなるアルバムです。色んな要素が一体化し、三人が満足できるレベルになっていると自負しています。
