salt water taffy is the name of a foreign candy, and it is a favorite of beat-maker MIZU9PERCENT.
I made it with roughness in mind.
I want to cherish the people in my relationship with whom I can discuss things slowly and roughly, because they are very precious.
TORAUMA (Trauma) / Rapper Born in 1991, from Towada City, Aomori Prefecture. Affiliated with M.S.W and Final Weapon Company. Known for his versatile beat handling, human-centered lyrics chronicling the pain and struggles he has experienced in his own life, and his catchy hook sensibility. He discovered net rap in high school and began rapping at home. He then moved to the Kanto region, using his style of throwing himself into various challenges as his weapon. After returning to Aomori for two years, he was invited by Okinawa-based 604 rappers MAVEL and HANG to collaborate. He moved to Okinawa while traveling in a kei car and joined 604 in 2018. He later joined Final Weapon Company (FWC). His 2016 SoundCloud release TSUBAKI gained attention, and his music saw significant expansion following its 2020 release across major digital stores. In September 2022, he released the EP Blue frost as a self-introduction, followed by the EP Violet Traveler in October. In March 2021, he released his 1st album Sternbergia, marking the start of full-scale production leveraging his Okinawan base, including collaborations with Okinawan rapper MuKuRo. In 2023, TSUBAKI went viral on TikTok, propelling it to #3 on the iTunes and Apple Music Hip Hop/Rap charts in Japan and #1 on Billboard JAPAN Heatseekers Songs chart. Subsequently, the track surpassed 10 million streams on both Spotify and YouTube Music Video, cementing its status as his signature song and establishing a solid presence within the scene. In 2026, he plans to hold his first solo live concert, serving as a bridge between reflecting on the past and looking toward the future.
As a kid, I didn't have any friends, so I enjoyed digging for music. Around 2016, despite having a house to live alone, I started going to Okinawa/604 and that's when my life started to go crazy. I was in charge of playing good music I found recently and was mysteriously made a DJ, but the psychological stress was too much for me and I quit immediately. In 2021, while living a NEET life in Yokohama, she started making beats in a drunken stupor because he had nothing to do. Her music is characterized by the freedom to make what she wanted to make at that time.
